The Clay Art Guild of the Hamptons, Inc. is a creative community devoted to teaching clay art, exhibiting clay art and providing an environment for the enrichment of clay artists. The Guild offers classes and workshops for adults and children, schools, community groups and other organizations. The Guild offers instructional scholarships for children, young people and adults. The Guild sponsors a clay art gallery, which presents exhibits of outstanding clay work by visiting artists and members.

STUDIO SAFETY PROCEDURES

All students and Guild members must wash their hands with soap and water upon entering the studio.  Please dry your hands with a paper towel and dispose of it immediately.

All students and Guild members must sign the Studio Log located near the main entrances of both studios.

Face Masks are SUGGESTED at both studios during open studio!

Students and Guild members who are feeling ill must not use the studio.

Students are only permitted in the studio if they have reserved a time slot. Students may only be in the studio for the time specified in their reservation.

Dogs are not permitted in the studio.

WORK AREA

All surfaces must be cleaned with soap and water after use.

All sanding must be done outdoors.

All bats must be wiped down with a damp sponge and dried standing up.

FEES

Guild Members:  $15.00 per hour.

Clay Art Students: $20.00 per hour. Clay can be purchased for $30 per bag.

FIRING FEES

All firings must be pre-paid and logged on the firing sheets provided in the binders at the studio. Measuring by length x width x height (LWH) times .06 for bisque & glaze combined (Cone 6) or LWH x .03 for bisque or glaze only. Cone 10 gas firing is LWH x .06.

CLAY, TOOLS AND SUPPLIES

Students should provide their own tools.  Shared studio tools are available for use. Toolkits may be purchased at the studios.

All personal tools must be labeled.  Tools left behind that are unlabeled will be disposed of.

All clay purchased outside the studio must be approved by Debra (clayartprez@gmail.com)  Red clay is not permitted.  All clay must be Cone 6-10 only.

All work spaces must be cleaned and the studio must be left in good condition upon departure.

How Do I Reserve Studio Session Time at The Square and The Mill?  You must be a current student or a Guild member.

For the Studio in the Water Mill Square…

Independent Studio Session time may be reserved for students and guild members by phone only.  Please text Jesus at 631-740-7199. Please call for studio time in advance. Eight people may be in the studio during Independent studio time. Rates are $15 per hour for Guild members and $20 per hour for non-Guild members.

For the Studio at The Old Mill…

Independent Studio Session time may be reserved for students and guild members by phone or email.  Please contact Jesus at: jesusantoshka@gmail.com or 631-740-7199  Please call for studio time in advance. Four people may be in the studio during Independent studio time. Rates are $15 per hour for Guild members and $20 per hour for non-Guild members.
